I have more than 8 years of experience working with seniors' health and wellness. First from a nutritional and functional medicine practitioner where I helped clients reverse diabetes and thyroid conditions and now as a mental health practitioner. In addition to my private practice, I also work at the Laguna Beach Senior Center at the Susi Q where I co-facility a support group for seniors and provide individual and couples therapy for seniors.
I understand that the later years of life come with their unique set of challenges. You may be grieving the loss of your youth and various daily activities that came so easily and naturally before. Similarly, navigating multiple medical appointments and medications can be frustrating. Multiple losses of friends or loved ones may be wearing on you.
Perhaps you are now in the role of caretaker for your partner or other family member and wondering how to cope with this new role. Maybe you or a loved one is wondering how in the world they are going to manage a chronic illness or condition, such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease, chronic pain or cancer.
